Aurora Aksnes (born June 15, 1996, in Stavanger) is an Norwegian artist and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from bloggers and music critics as well as the media. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and were widely appreciated. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry promoted her song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft and being amazed by the music. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but as a way to develop. The singer began to write lyrics of her own. Alongside Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they can help other people, not to gain fame with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand the importance of their work and how they impact the world. The piano was first played by her when she was just six and started writing songs at the age of nine. This was not known to her family until she was fourteen. Aurora's success was never her goal. Aurora says she loves creating songs. Music is her favorite way to feel anything.
